Check Bluebook access before exam day
For digital or hybrid AP, sign in with your College Board student account and look for the exam under Your Tests. Know your sign-in details: a saved password on the device is not enough on exam day. Try the exam preview when available. Prepare for 4 hours of battery use; bring the compatible power cord, but do not assume an outlet will be available.
Fully digital and hybrid are not the same packing plan
For fully digital AP, enter all answers in Bluebook. In hybrid AP, enter multiple-choice answers in Bluebook and write free-response answers in an exam booklet, so keep the required pens or pencils. On a tablet, an external keyboard is required for fully digital AP and recommended for hybrid AP; external keyboards are not permitted with a laptop. Check the current official instructions for your exam and approved accommodations.
Pack the night before
Put approved items in one bag and remove anything you do not need. Phones, smartwatches, notes, and unapproved devices can create serious problems in a testing room.
Morning routine
Leave earlier than usual, eat something steady, and arrive with enough time for check-in. If something goes wrong, contact your school immediately instead of guessing.
Plan for the room, not the perfect room
Testing rooms can be cold, warm, quiet, crowded, or farther from your normal classroom than expected. A simple clothing layer, extra pencils, and clear arrival plan solve many avoidable problems.
Keep exam security simple
If an item is not clearly allowed, leave it outside the testing area or ask before check-in. Unapproved notes, devices, and recording tools can create bigger problems than forgetting a snack.
